Happiness is a journey, not a destination; happiness is to be found along the way not at the end of the road, for then the journey is over and it's too late. The time for happiness is today not tomorrow. --Paul H. Dunn

BAREFOOT BOOKS (Celebrating Art & Story)

I have become what is referred to as a STALLHOLDER for a beautiful company called BAREFOOT BOOKS.
This company that sells the most beautiful books. The stories are incredible, the illustrations are vibrant and the gift of a book to a child is priceless.
O Magazine, you know OPRAH, even highlighted a book or two last year! They have been in the press from NY Times, Time, CHILD, Boston Globe and many others have talked about BAREFOOT BOOKS.
You can shop by type of book or by age. Click the words BAREFOOT BOOKS anywhere in this post and you will open the window to BAREFOOT BOOKS and their beauty. Shop online and have these lovely books sent directly to your child or send them as a gift to another.
Look for more information in my posts in the days and weeks to come or you can click on the banners to the right at anytime on the right of your screen. Watch for free book giveaways and blog link opportunities.

I add this from my friend Cindy...thanks Cindy

My favorite line in Barack's inaugural speech was, "We will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist."
Second favorite of the day was Diane Feinstein's contrast of the words "ballot" and "bullet."
Words matter. So many came to Washington to hear the words; to be inspired by the new president. To hear what could make them believe things are going to be allright.
The new tagline of Smith Communications is "Because how you say it matters."
Let me know if you need help saying it.

TGIF

Last Friday i posted how Friday was my least favorite day of the week. Today, I am GLAD it is Friday.

We had friends arrive yesterday from Tulsa who are here to look for houses....they too are moving to Cincy. We are thrilled.

Today, our dear, dear friend comes from Houston for a weekend visit and I personally am totally thrilled....she is a favorite friend!!!

So even though it was 6 below zero when I woke up this morning and the high is only 10 degrees, I say TGIF!

Friday Feelings

Today is Friday and for most people it is a favorite day of the week. For me, not so much.

I like Wednesday best...not sure why.
Friday is always the day that everyone is really tired in our house. After a busy week of school, work and activities, we always seem to need a break and need to wind down. Friday also seems to be the day my kids get sick. Probably because of the above comment of a busy week, but it always seems to show up on Friday. I guess that is good as long as the weekend is not full of activities also, but it is a bummer when someone is under the weather for the weekend. Limits the possibilities of what can be done.
Friday is also a time when I think of all the things I did not accomplish this week and I seem to put a list of things to do together in my head and want to finish them all by Sunday. As a result I am not really able to relax and enjoy the down time of the weekend. Maybe that is why by Wednesday I feel relaxed.
By Wednesday I feel I have finally checked off that last thing from LAST WEEK'S list.

So, those are my feelings this Friday....as I ponder the list of things I did not get done this week and make the list of things to accomplish by Sunday.....I reflect! YUCK!
