CATHERINE'S BLOG -- HIJACKED

As Catherine's prior post indicates, she is already in San Antonio. She is serving on a team for a Walk to Emmaus being led by Jen from http://threelittleindians.blogspot.com. Part of the weekend is to let people know how much they are loved.

I have hijacked Catherine's blog for two reasons. First, to let her know how much I love her. She is AN AMAZING woman. She is the best mother in the world for Addison and Campbell. She brings me so much joy and happiness. She is a wonderful wife and a great friend. And, she is a wonderful servant of God. Selflessly giving her time and energy. Catherine -- I love you so much.

Second, I know Catherine will see the comments anyone leaves on her blog even before she is finished with her service on Sunday. I am asking each of you to leave a comment on her blog and let her know how special she is to you. I am confident that she will feel the love of those around her through the comments left on her blog.

Spring Break

Spring break is just around the corner and we will travel to San Antonio. To visit family and friends and eat much mexican food! I hope everyone blogging has or has already had a great spring break. I will post when we return. As for now, I need to do laundry and pack!

So Happy Wednesday, my favorite day!

Are you Mary or Martha?

Luke 10:38-42 (The Message)

Mary and Martha 38-40As they continued their travel, Jesus entered a village. A woman by the name of Martha welcomed him and made him feel quite at home. She had a sister, Mary, who sat before the Master, hanging on every word he said. But Martha was pulled away by all she had to do in the kitchen. Later, she stepped in, interrupting them. "Master, don't you care that my sister has abandoned the kitchen to me? Tell her to lend me a hand."
41-42The Master said, "Martha, dear Martha, you're fussing far too much and getting yourself worked up over nothing. One thing only is essential, and Mary has chosen it—it's the main course, and won't be taken from her."

Happy Birthday to You!!!

OK, the first words from her mouth will be "how could you put those pictures of me on your Blog" and my answer is, because you are my sister and I love you. So there!

You might have guessed, this is my sister, Cindy. Today, March 11, 2009, she is 50. Yes, 50....the age you know I am dreading if you read my last post!

I am so very lucky to have her as my very own sister! As you can see from the various photos, she is a pretty special person.

She brings joy to all who she meets and fills the hearts of those who know and love her. She is selfless and unselfish at all times and would give you the shirt off her back if you did not have one of your own.

Cindy loves God, family and others before even thinking of herself (we are working on that) but in a way we all rely on her so very much (we are working on that too)! She is a care giver and cares about giving.

So, before I become completely undone, I want to simply say, I love you Cindy and thank God every single day that he gave me YOU as MY sister! Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to Me!

I have read so many birthday posts and so many clever ideas come to my mind about how to write my own birthday post. But, here is the deal.

Today, March 9, 2009 I turned 46 years old (at 12:05am). For those who can do the math, I am now closer to 50 than 40. And if you know me, you know that I automatically become the next year older on my birthday....well I said 50...Yes, 50. And for those who know me might realize that this may just strike a nerve.

I have always felt older than I am. I have always said I am an old soul. But today, I am wishing I had kept my big mouth shut!

So, today, I am only 46 and for the next 364 days I will remain only 46. I will deal with 47 on March 9, 2010!

But, I am happy, healthy and grateful for all my blessings. I have TONS to be thankful for. I have just returned from a visit home, San Antonio, Texas is home. I spent time with family and that was a gift.

I am so blessed to have a mom and dad and a wonderful sister (and others) who all love me so very much. They spoiled me, fed me and made me laugh. What more could I have asked for!

So, Happy Birthday to me....the 46 year old version of me. I am going to stick with that for a while.....and as my sister reminded me I say a lot.....welcome to my world! My 46 year old, truly blessed, world.

Daddy Daughter Dancing

A week ago, both Friday and Saturday, were the Daddy Daughter Dances for the Wyoming Youth. I must say, it was a darling thing.
Kipper really did it right. After taking both girls to the Mall to buy new dresses, he ordered them flowers and took them out to dinner before their dances.
Campbell went Friday and Addison went Saturday and as I heard, it was very special for them all!
As the mommy, posting this with tears in my eyes, I am proud of my girls and love them so much.....they are not going to be little much longer.........(sigh)
Thanks Kipper for taking them and making them your special little girls for an evening. A treasured memory.
