Soccer Mom

NOT to be confused with a Hockey Mom by the way....I do however wear lipstick!

So, tomorrow begins what I swore I would never become. A Soccer Mom. But I must add the disclaimer, I DO NOT drive a mini-van. (not that there is anything wrong with that)
Anyway, tomorrow we start soccer games. For the past two weeks we have had 4 practices a week (except when the rain has cancelled). Tomorrow morning, we have a game at 9:00am and another at 12 noon.

We will gather a few minutes before for a couple "drills and warm-ups" and then Kipper and I will park in lawn chairs, with blankets if it is still cool (yes I live in Ohio and it was 38 this morning). We will yell names of girls we have no idea which ones they are because all the other parents are yelling at them. We will scream DE-FENCE and RUN at the top of our lungs. And will give High Fives to all the other parents when they score! We'll holler at Campbell the PINK PUMA and Addison a BLUE COWGIRL(The Cowboys is the school mascot). And at the end of the game, we will make a PARENT BRIDGE with our arms for all the girls to run through.

Ok, so do I sound like I know what I am doing? Well, I have been reading up on all this to get it just right!
So, think of me the next 8 Saturday mornings as you sleep in, warm and cozy, watching morning cartoons or reading the paper in bed. I will be living the Soccer Mom life!
Happy Weekend all!

This is so GREAT!

For a couple years now I've been wanting to be a soccer mom...but my kids didn't want to PLAY SOCCER!

In the fall they've all expressed interest. Seems I'll be spending the fall on the soccer sidelines from morning til night with 3 kids playing soccer. Be careful what I wish for!

We'll see if they hold to it...

Have fun! Go Campbell! Go Addison! Go girls I don't know the names of either!!!

xo!

I am a soccer mom too. Love the bridge of arms idea.

I have been a soccer mom for many years now, and love it...you will too! And what mom gets to sleep in on Saturday morning! Lol!

I stubbornly drive a Pilot like you do, but I don't think I can take the fighting/ kicking each other in the head to get back to the 3rd row anymore, so tomorrow I am getting a new {{sob}} mini van also. It comes with a ton of perks, and we're keeping the Honda so it's still real all good!

Only did the soccer thing once, with Elijah, a few years ago. Wasn't his thing, which was fine. He has since discovered the joy of baseball, football and basketball...

Sometimes the hectic pace is a bit overwhelming, but I wouldn't have it any other way. How blessed are we to have kids who are physically capable of playing, and have the motivation to do so?

Thank God they all get their athletic genes from Joe:)

What about you? Were you athletic?
